OPERATION EXCALIBUR

Brief

Joint Task Force 13 exists as a multinational special operations unit formed from personnel who have undergone the Scorpio Effect. The force has over one hundred known operators drawn from various forces of Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other members of NATO and the Commonwealth. It is a subsidiary of Project Excalibur.

Task Force 13 was initially established during the beginning of the Skyfall crisis. Drawing personnel from across international special operations services, its purpose was to discover and destroy the source of corruption.

A four-man squad (led by Captain [REDACTED]) discovered what they believed at the time to be the source of corruption. Captain [REDACTED] proceeded to activate the damaged angelic weapon "PURGATORY" and inadvertently incited the Vanishing. The squad itself was lost and presumed K.I.A, and the activation of "PURGATORY" had a negative effect on Project Excalibur. The original Task Force 13 was finally disassembled after the commanding officer Silas Goodfellow went M.I.A in a demonic incident.

Six years from the Vanishing, from November 23rd to November 29th, active service members who were K.I.A during this period all underwent the same change. They reawoke from death as something neither demon nor man, but machine fused with flesh. Unlike classical demons, the mechanical demons retained compliant and willing to follow orders. This change was dubbed as the Scorpio Effect.

Personnel affected by the Scorpio Effect were located and brought into Project Excalibur. Key personnel were selected from this pool to be assigned to a new unit. Joint Task Force 13 was re-established under new commanding officer Richard Whitewood. Main operative: Find Heaven.
